What Does Water Remember?

Reading Elif Shafak's There Are Rivers in the Sky through memory, inheritance and what survives us.

Shallow water meeting pale sand

There are questions we keep trying to solve as if they were problems. Peace may be one of them.

We build systems around it. We read books about it. We take courses, follow practices, change routines, leave cities, return to them, and sometimes discover that the noise came with us.

Maybe peace is not what comes after we become unblocked. Maybe peace is what unblocks us.

Embassy is interested in what happens when different traditions sit beside each other without being forced into agreement. Philosophy, psychology, theology, art and lived experience may ask the same question and still refuse to give us the same answer.
